 Why did I start blogging?

People will start blogs for many different reasons. Some will use a blog as a diary. Just to jot down somewhere in cyberspace. I personally don’t enjoy sharing many things online. Much less as a diary.

The idea to start a blog started eons ago. Easily over 15 years ago. I started it, but wasn’t sure what to write about. I started with my ventures as a wedding planner. That was fun. I left it for many years. About 7 years ago, I retook it and started two different blogs. One for wedding adventures that I could recall from my days as wedding planner and the second with holistic healing suggestions that I was learning from in school. I didn’t stick to them since school was pretty much all consuming.

This past year, I said, that’s it, I have to start it. I started two. Always two lol Mostly because I have so much to share. One hasn’t been developed fully. But then I left myself thinking, I have so much to talk about my experience and personal research with hypothyroidism and thyroidectomy. It’s over 13 years of trial and errors. My life became a little bit of an experiment for myself and my close friends from school. What better than someone battling something that they will face in practice than a friend willing to experiment.

It was trying. And I’ve done quite a bit. The one thing I truly didn’t count on, because I told myself I will cross that bridge when I get there was preparing for menopause. I’m definitely not there yet, but not there is a new trend; perimenopause. I’m still trying to figure out how I feel about it, and at some point dive in so that I can report back my findings. Already dealing with some hormonal shifts and issues, adding more is gonna be a wild ride.

My only hope is that my report of findings will be beneficial for someone out there that is looking for a community to help them grow, heal and find support. This can be such a lonely journey. I’ve felt it for years. I’ve found some communities, but it wasn’t hitting the spot. I hope our community will create that space for you.

And that’s how blogging about hypothyroidism and thyroidectomies came to be for me.
